Was a good footballer in his youth until a broken leg put him out of the game for nine months, after which he could not return to the same standard. Instead, his father took him to a local driving range and he was soon hooked. Turned professional late in 2014 and competed on the Challenge Tour in 2015 before graduating from Qualifying School. Earned a first Challenge Tour victory in 2017 at the Turkish Airlines Challenge. Counts Andy Sullivan as a close friend, mentor and stablemate, having grown up playing in many of the same junior and amateur events together.
