Whilst he secured higher finishes in five subsequent events, his eighth place finish at the 2010 Telenet Trophy on the European Challenge Tour was crucial as, without it, it is doubtful whether he would have gone on to enjoy the season he did. Started the year without a Challenge Tour category, but by finishing in the top ten in his first appearance of the season in Belgium, he not only secured a place in the field for the next event but also proved himself worthy of the sponsor’s invitation he was playing on. He would eventually finish in 16th place in the final Challenge Tour Rankings to earn elevation to The European Tour for the first time. Is a contemporary of Rory McIlroy, having competed against the Ulsterman on numerous occasions during their respective amateur careers. Like his father, who introduced him to the game aged six, he is an avid Arsenal supporter who cites former captains Thierry Henry and Tony Adams as his all-time heroes, and Tiger Woods as his golfing idol.
