About

Born to Japanese parents, Kobori moved to New Zealand when he was five. He first won a professional event as a 17-year-old amateur, winning the NZ PGA Championship in 2019. In 2023, he recorded big amateur victories including the Australian Amateur, the prestigious Western Amateur, the Eisenhower Trophy, as well as the Elite Amateur Series. He also won Australian PGA Q-School – taking up his card once he turned professional. Kobori won three times in four weeks on the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia to begin 2024, an unprecedented achievement which saw him win the Tour's Order of Merit and secure his DP World Tour card for 2024-25 with an event to spare. Finished in a tie for second at the 2025 Betfred British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo, helping him to reach the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.
