Started playing at the age of four with the encouragement of his golf-loving family. His sister Melodie has played on the Ladies European Tour, cousin Nicolas Beaufils has played on the Challenge Tour and another cousin has represented France in equestrian. Became the first player to take five points from five in the Seve Trophy when he helped Continental Europe defeat Great Britain and Ireland in 2013. Enjoys going to the cinema and watching all sports, as well as playing tennis, badminton and squash.
