Sporting talent runs in the family for Burmester – his father Mark played international cricket for Zimbabwe while his mother Michelle is a talented golfer who holds the women’s course record at Royal Harare Golf Club, his home course. Won for the first time as a professional in 2013 at the Polokwane Classic and added five more Sunshine Tour titles to his trophy cabinet before he triumphed at the co-sanctioned Tshwane Open in his homeland in 2017. Ended a four-year wait for his second DP World Tour title with a dominant five-stroke victory at the 2021 Tenerife Open. Claimed his third and fourth DP World Tour victories over back-to-back weeks, at the 2023 Joburg Open and Investec South African Open Championship respectively.
