Was introduced to the game at the age of nine by his father, a single-figure handicapper. Benefited in his early career when his aunt married a teaching professional, who works at Mill Hill Golf Club, where Brooks learned his trade. Played three seasons on the PGA EuroPro Tour after turning professional, winning in 2009 on the way to a third place finish on the Order of Merit. Won his maiden European Tour title at the 2014 Madeira Islands Open – Portugal – BPI, which was reduced to 36 holes after long fog delays throughout the week. Is a keen football fan who supports Manchester United.
